Organisers say buildings will still light up and flags will still fly.
The organisers of the Dublin Pride Parade have made the decision to cancel this summer's event due to the Coronavirus crisis.
The parade, which usually takes place in June, was initially postponed until September, but the organisers felt "the scale of one of the largest events in the country would place unnecessary pressure on essential frontline services and resources that will have been at full stretch for many months."
The theme for this year's parade was 'In This Together', and while the sentiment remains true, it will be upsetting to lose an event that gives countless LGBTQ+ platforms a chance to fundraise and celebrate. The Pride Parade will be held digitally this year for the first time ever, with an interactive parade and live streamed performances.
