Chris Pine Reteams With Wonder Woman Director for New Series
Patty Jenkins returns with a new thriller scheduled to premiere in 2019
The trailer for Patty Jenkins’ TNT show I Am the Night has been released.
It centres on a young woman named Fauna who discovers the person who raised her is not her biological mother. Investigating her past, she discovers a link between herself and the infamous Black Dahlia murder of 1947.
The six-episode limited series is based on a memoir from Fauna Hodel, played in the series by India Eisley. Chris Pine also stars as Jay Singletary, a reporter who begins investigating Fauna’s story.
Patty Jenkins will direct two of the episodes, while Oscar-nominated musician David Lang (Requiem for a Dream, Youth) will compose the soundtrack for the series.
Pine starred as the love interest to Wonder Woman, Steve Trevor, in Patty Jenkins’ 2017 critical and commercial success. Despite doubts he would return for the sequel, last month Jenkins revealed via Twitter that the actor would appear in the follow-up titled Wonder Woman 1984.

Pine’s other acting credits include playing Captain Kirk in J.J. Abrams Star Trek reboot and Cinderella’s Prince in Into the Woods. Meanwhile, Jenkins’ previous work includes the 2003 film Monster, which earned Charlize Theron an Academy Award for Best Actress.
While a release date for Ireland has not been set, I Am the Night will premiere in the US in January 2019. Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled for a November 2019 release.
