Bewley's Café Theatre To Present 'Dogs Of War' in St. Stephen's Green
The play will be performed as part of Bewley's 'Walkabout Theatre' series.
In 2020, Bewley's Café Theatre commissioned playwrights to dream up innovative and contemporary new plays for outdoor promenade performances, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the world now opening up, the plays have been performed at various historic locations throughout Dublin. Beginning today (June 30) and running until July 7, 2021, Dogs of War – the third play in the series – will take place in St. Stephen's Green. Happening Wednesday through Saturday each week at 1pm and 3pm, tickets for the show are €15. They're almost gone, so get them here ASAP.
Written by actor and playwright Fionn Foley (who won 'Best Performer' at Dublin Fringe Festival 2018 for his uproarious one-man show Brendan Galileo for Europe), starring Clodagh Mooney Duggan, and directed by Jeda De Brí, Dogs of War follows Judy, who is "absolutely bloody furious.

"Having been ousted from her throne at the helm of the country’s eminent stock photography agency, she finds herself having to start all over again," the play's synopsis explains. "Judy sets up Absolute Pup– an ‘elite dog walking agency’. Now, with an army of only the most sophisticated canine comrades, she will rebuild her empire and exact the revenge she so deeply craves. Join us in St Stephen’s Green at the Yeats Memorial for a hilarious new play about leaving the rat race to join the dog fight!"
