Before heading up the marketing department at Hot Press, Mark was marketing manager of Dublin Zoo. Behind the scenes at the Zoo, he developed his photographic chops; think Californian sea lion birth, Sumatran tiger root canal, Asian elephant pedicure. After hours at Hot Press, he captured U2, Chic, The Roots, The Script, Grace Jones and countless others in full flight on stage. His photos have appeared in most national newspapers, and of course, Hot Press. Mark played in goal for the famed and fabled Hot Press Munchengladbach 1891, training under former Crystal Palace shot-stopper Matt Gregg, before heading to Italy under the Bosman ruling, where he played with Prima Categoria club, Vittoria Roma 1908. On the journalistic front, for Hot Press, Mark has interviewed Béatrice Dalle on a boat on the Seine, caught up with Bob Geldof on the Spanish Steps, met with Grandmaster Flash in LA, shot the breeze with Stephanie Roche in the Tuscan hills, and reported from Vesnova Children’s Mental Asylum in Belarus with Chernobyl Children International. After a string of other adventures along the way – one of which involved a whiskey distillery(!) – he's now back in the Hot Press fold as a freelance consultant.
