Paul McCartney plays the O2
Macca is doing his legendary thing in December.
Paul McCartney rubbishes reports that he’s retired from touring on December 20 when he plays the Dublin O2.
Tickets go on sale on Wednesday October 28 priced between €86.25 and €156.25.
Part of a seven-date Euro-jaunt, the gig finds Macca drawing on every phase of a career which is close to spanning 50 years.
As he explained to Hot Press before his last gig here in 2003, playing Ireland is a big deal for him.
“The Dublin show is a special one for me ’cause it’ll be the first time I’ve played ‘Let It Be’ – which is about me mum – in Ireland,” he said. “I always get a sense of her being on stage with me when I’m singing it, but her coming from there, it’s going to be even stronger.”
Appetites can be whetted with Good Evening New York, a CD/DVD package culled from his shows during the summer in New York’s Citi Fields where he was supported by some young pups called The Script who’ve just gone top 10 in Australia with ‘Before The Worst’.
