Dublin City Soul Festival kicks off this week
The second annual Dublin City Soul festival, a self-proclaimed collaboration 'of peace, unity and love' kicks off this Thursday.
The Dublin City Soul Festival runs all this week, culminating with the world's only Soul Picnic on Sunday (May 25).
Organisers of the Soul Picnic in Merrion Square Park have lined up seven hours of top quality music which will see the some of the biggest names in soul from all over the globe perform alongside the latest and greatest Irish talent, all free of charge.
Another highlight of the festival will be the return of Gospel Hall of Fame Inductees The Rance Allen Group, who will be performing alongside the undisputed Queen of Beale Street, Miss Ruby Wilson on Saturday (May 24) in the Sugar Club.
Much more than just a music event, the festival will also see the introduction of a number of new offerings including a European Premier of Respect Yourself – The STAX Records Story at Filmbase in Temple Bar, "Laugh Yer’ Soul Off" at The Laughter Lounge and a Soul Food Restaurant Trail.
