39 Shades Of Tech-Funk
Dave Angel 39 Shades Of Tech-Funk (React)
Dave Angel
39 Shades Of Tech-Funk (React)
In which Angel wears his disco-fuelled credentials on his sleeve. Gone are the days of his jazzier sets, when Dave brought the listener and clubber through the outer limits of Detroit inspired techno, now replaced by hyperactive, bubbling disco-funk. Although not quite as weighty in content as his back catalogue, the music contained herein nevertheless displays Angel’s undoubted understanding of intricate drum and percussion arrangements. Featuring glitterball-centric contributions from Slater, Pooley, Beyer, Lekebusch and Angel himself, the collection also contains Peace Division’s ‘D Tuned’ houser-pitched up to dizzying heights. Also featuring Dave’s unquestionable technical skills, 39 Shades is a must for anyone with even a passing interest in the man’s recent productions and no-holds-barred DJing activities. (RB)
