Y4K: Further Still
Nu breaks brat Tayo takes up the baton from former ‘Y3K’ resident Hyper for a darker, more nail biting selection. So, while his predecessor supported the progressive end of the break beat sound, Tayo has favoured a more electronic approach.
Nu breaks brat Tayo takes up the baton from former ‘Y3K’ resident Hyper for a darker, more nail biting selection. So, while his predecessor supported the progressive end of the break beat sound, Tayo has favoured a more electronic approach. Sure, there are deep, soulful selections at the start of his mix, most notably Bushwacka’s take on ‘Sueno Latino’ and ‘Travellin’ On’ by Beber & Tamra, but the mood soon changes to include Stanton Warriors’ hardcore meets 2 step mash ups, acidic breaks from Adam Freeland and Rennie Pilgrem & B.L.I.M. and even well known sinister yet crowd pleasing selections like Plump DJ’s ‘Scram’ and the ‘Total Recall’ sampling ‘Red Pill’ by Scratch D & H Bomb. A brilliantly programmed mix from the dark side of modern break beat.
