Only Tonight
A few years back, Austen was introduced to Austrian producer Patrick Pulsinger who has worked his magic and weaved the singer’s silky voice into a series of gloriously funky house tracks.
Seventy year old Austrian crooner Louis Austen’s debut album, ‘Only Tonight’ is supposedly a tribute to the Rat Pack’s singing style. So why is it included on the dance page? Well, a few years back, Austen was introduced to Austrian producer Patrick Pulsinger who has worked his magic and weaved the singer’s silky voice into a series of gloriously funky house tracks.
There’s the truly sexy ’Music’: the string-led jacking groove of ‘Hoping’; the cautionary traveller’s tale on ‘One Night In Rio’ and ‘Grab My Shaft’, a truly filthy duet with Kitty Yo label-owner, Peaches. A splendid debut outing from the oldest swinger in town. [RB] 0
