Positive Influence
The work of Alan Barratt and Tony Thomas, the album is squared solely at the dancefloor
While tech-house has been picked up and in some cases hi-jacked by dance music’s mainstream, the scene has yet to spawn an album that matches the standards reached on the EPs its main purveyors consistently release.
Hopefully, Positive Influence will change that situation; the work of Alan Barratt and Tony Thomas, the album is squared solely at the dancefloor, taking the duo’s love of rolling bass lines and dub influenced rhythms to a varied yet logical conclusion.
From soulful, vocal tracks through to the disco inspired ‘Reach Out’, into the deeper affairs like ‘Gorgeous’ and ‘Influx’, The Producers manage to keep it funky, never resorting to obvious, banging or cheesy tactics.
