Hot Press Track of the Day: Brass Phantoms release new single 'Indigo'
Indie rock/post-punk outfit Brass Phantoms have released their brand new single 'Indigo' today.
According to the band, "The idea behind the video for 'Indigo' was to paint a picture of a war scene with a bleak image but combined with music that has the appearance of joy or euphoria." Brass Phantoms enlisted the talents of director Alan McCarthy, who had previously worked with Fangclub. The star of the video is the amazing dancer Alicia Premkumar, whose performance is extremely emotive and adds another layer to the track. While the song is partially about a battle, her portrayal depicts mental conflict as well as the physical.
Brass Phantoms have developed a powerful and eclectic sound that they can call their own, which has enabled them to build up a strong following in Ireland. Having played Other Voices and Indiependence, they are quickly gaining a reputation for their raw energy and tightly-knit performances on stage.
