Dylan took the opportunity to pay tribute to the late singer-songwriter during his show in Colorado on Saturday.
Tom Petty, who passed away on October 2nd was a former band mate of Dylan's in the Travelling Wilbury's along with George Harrison, Jeff Lynne and Roy Orbison. The band formed in 1988, with the release of the Grammy-nominated Travelling Wilbury's Vol. 1 before following it up with 1990's Travelling Wilbury's Vol. 3.
Dylan previously issued a statement on the news of Petty's passing, in which he said,
“It’s shocking, crushing news. I thought the world of Tom. He was great performer, full of the light, a friend, and I’ll never forget him.”
