Protest against Ireland-Israel Nations League fixtures to take place in Dublin this Tuesday
The protest comes after the FAI confirmed the match, despite significant public backlash from Irish fans.
The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) has announced a protest against the upcoming Ireland-Israel Nations League fixtures.
The protest is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, at 12:30 pm. It will take place in front of the Department of Culture, Communication, and Sport, at the corner of Leeson Street and Leeson Lane.
In February, the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) confirmed that the second Ireland-Israel match would take place as scheduled at Aviva Stadium on Sunday, October 4, so as not to risk disqualification from the Nations League. A location for the Sunday, September 27 match has yet to be announced.
The decision to go on with the Ireland-Israel matches was met with swift public backlash, including from IPSC.
"We cannot play the representatives of a state committing genocide against the Palestinian people," IPSC wrote in a statement on Instagram.

Last year, the FAI formally requested that Israel be banned from the UEFA Champions League.
While UEFA have confirmed that no matches will take place in Israel, they have not barred Israel from participating in the league.
In November, IPSC hosted a national demonstration for Palestine in line with the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
