Culture Ireland set to receive over €1.6 million in funding
"It highlights the Government’s continued commitment and focus to supporting Irish artists and cultural organisations in reaching international audiences,” said O'Donovan.
Culture Minister, Patrick O'Donovan, has allocated more than €1.6 million in funding through Culture Ireland's Regular Grants Programme. This investment aims to promote Irish arts worldwide.
The funding will support 191 separate projects across 48 countries. These projects encompass a wide range of artistic disciplines, including circus, opera, dance, music, literature, film, theatre, and the visual arts.
“It gives me great pleasure to announce this Culture Ireland grant round of over €1.6 million, the highest single grant round in the history of the organisation," said O'Donovan. "It highlights the Government’s continued commitment and focus to supporting Irish artists and cultural organisations in reaching international audiences.”
Some of this funding supports attendance by Irish filmmakers at major international film festivals, such as the 27th Chicago Film Festival (USA), Irish authors appearing at various international literary festivals like the Sydney Writers' Festival (Australia), and support for international tours across the world, covering a range of artists and genres, including Folk Club Lausanne (Switzerland).
