Zara Larsson has announced her new album Midnight Sun, out September 26 through Sommer House / Epic Records.
Her upcoming single of the same name will be out on June 13, with a UK, North American, European and Australian tour kicking off this August. She’ll headline Dublin’s 3Arena on November 7. Pre-sale begins on June 10, with general sales starting this Friday.
“In thinking about this album, I thought, ‘What do I want to say? What do I want this to be?’” said Larsson. “I really am proud of my Swedish pop heritage, so I wanted to write about a Swedish summer where the sun never goes down. I wanted the whole album to feel like it's a summer night and it never ends. And it doesn't matter if it's December: the summer night will be there for you. It's waiting for you, it will come back for you, and you will come back for it.”
The album was created over the past year with producers Margo XS, Zhone and songwriter Helena Gao. Larsson released lead single ‘Pretty Ugly’ back in April, alongside a music video directed by Charlotte Rutherford.

Her tour starts off with an opening slot on Tate McRae’s Miss Possessive Tour, beginning in Vancouver on August 4. The artist also has back-to-back shows at The Forum in Los Angeles, scheduled for September 26 and 27 in line with her album's release.
“It just feels like me—knowing myself, this album is just really, really me,” she said. “And also, no one can do me the way I can.”
