YARD release new single, 'Trevor'
The group will drop their debut EP in May.
Dublin-based electropunk trio YARD has released their new single ‘Trevor.’
Fusing techno with electronic rock, the band derives inspiration from groups like SUUNS, Death Grips and Nine Inch Nails. The track explores anthropomorphism – the inclination to attribute emotions to inhuman objects, and was accompanied by a music video.
“I’ve a habit of naming inanimate objects that have played a significant role in my life,” said vocalist Emmet White. “In this case ‘Trevor’ was the name of a bike that I had for years, which was passed down to me by my brother. Sadly, one night, it was stolen outside of work. The loss of Trevor hit me far harder than I had expected as it felt like I had lost a friend or a companion.”
The track comes as their first single from their debut EP, set for release in May.
