Wunderhorse announces Button Factory show
Jacob Slater will return to Dublin due to high demand for a show on October 28th 2023.
Jacob Slater, aka Wunderhorse, is back with his acclaimed solo album CUB, with a new Irish date announced today by singular artists.
Wunderhorse the band will perform live at Button Factory, Dublin on October 28th 2023 due to high demand following a string of four sold out shows in Ireland.
"Cub proves itself as a testament to the unique language of songwriting and the therapeutic reverberations of rage-fuelled rock," Hot Press' Riley Glaister-Ryder wrote in her review.
A few years ago, as the vocalist in garage rock band The Dead Pretties, Slater was briefly the talk of the London indie scene, his band releasing just a handful of singles but garnering a massive cult following over the course of a few months. That band burnt out and called it a day before true fame hit.
Jacob Slater’s return as Wunderhorse has been helped no little by Dublin legends Fontaines D.C., who have been bringing the laid back, Cornwall-based musician and his band around with them on their sell out tours.
“What was great about the Fontaines D.C. support slots was that Grian Chattan had heard of us through friends, and he just gave us a call,” Slater told Dublin Gazette in 2022. “It was done through a mutual respect, one musician to another, rather than a clinical industry thing. That meant something to us.”
Slater made his acting debut last year as Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook in Danny Boyle's Disney+ show about the band, entitled Pistol.
CUB is available on limited edition purple vinyl from indie record stores and the official store. Tickets for Wunderhorse's Button Factory show go on sale this Friday, March 10th.
