WORLD EXCLUSIVE: The Killers and Snow Patrol For Oxegen
Snow Patrol and The Killers are to play Oxegen this year, Hot Press has learned.
Informed sources have revealed further details of the line-up for the event to Hot Press and it is shaping up to be another huge year for the festival – which is one of the most successful in Europe.
With the Kings of Leon already confirmed as main stage headliners, Northern Irish outfit Snow Patrol and The Killers seem certain to headline the Main Stage on the other two nights. While this has not been confirmed it would represent the kind of triple whammy which will ensure a packed arena on all three nights.
Both bands released new albums in 2008, with The Killers [right] widely praised Day & Age being nominated for a Brits Award. Snow Patrol's One Hundred Million Suns was released in October and the band will be on the road through much of 2009 promoting it, so they should be in top form by the time Oxegen comes around. They play the O2 in Dublin on Feb 28 and March 1, and do an unprecedented 4 nights at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, on March 19, 20, 21 and 23.
Oxegen 2009, which is promoted by MCD, takes place on 10th - 12th July at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas.
