Wilco share lead single from their upcoming album Ode To Joy
The Chicago band's 11th studio album is on the way.
Wilco have revealed that their highly anticipated new album, Ode To Joy, is set to arrive on October 4, via dBpm Records. To celebrate the announcement the band has shared the lead single, 'Love Is Everywhere (Beware)'.
"There MUST be more love than hate," frontman Jeff Tweedy remarked in a statement about the nw song. "Right?! I’m not always positive we can be so sure. In any case, I’m starting to feel like being confident in that equation isn’t always the best motivation for me to be my best self — it can kind of let me off the hook a little bit when I think I should be striving to contribute more love outside of my comfortable sphere of family and friends.
"So... I guess the song is sort of a warning to myself that YES, Love IS EVERYWHERE, but also BEWARE! I can’t let that feeling absolve me of my duty to create more."
Ode To Joy is the Chicago band's first album since 2016's Schmilco. Tweedy released his third solo album, Warmer, earlier this year as a Record Story Day exclusive.
Although there are currently no Irish dates scheduled on Wilco's upcoming tour, they will play Glasgow's Barrowlands (September 26), Manchester's Albert Hall (Sept 27) and London's Eventim Apollo (Sept 28).
