White Light
More groove flotilla than groove armada these days
This is a remix album in which Groove Armada re-channel their Black Light album into new ravetastic shapes and sizes. This is because the Groove Armada carries within it a captured audience of groovsters who think it’s the late nineties and will, no doubt, happily listen to anything they put out. Carving a niche between indie anaemia, eighties fetishization and easy-to-digest electronica, their major chords, propulsive squelches and four-to-the-floor beatz (TM) don’t set my dance-floor alight. The Groove Armada is really more a Groove Flotilla, best suited to a Reeling in the Years special about the Superclubs of 1998.
Key Track: ‘Paper Romance’
