"We were staring at the end" - Editors
Speaking to Hot Press, frontman Tom Smith opens up about the the band narrowly avoiding separation
The Brummies found themselves on a slippery slope after their 2010 tour, a bumpy trail which eventually resulted in guitarist Chris Urbanowicz leaving the band.
"I think Chris has a much narrower frame of what he wanted to do," Smith tells Hot Press. "Over the course of the first three records, we'd done everything thaat he was open to doing. Chris would never want to have a song with a string arrangement or an acoustic guitar."
Smith continues to liken Chris' decision to leave the band to a breaking up with a girlfriend.
"It was very much like splitting up with a girlfriend. It's all raw, it's still to soon. And he [Chris] lives in New York so he's not someone I see really. One day I hope."
