The former Oasis frontman played a surprise show the night before, marking his first US gig as a solo artist. He made headlines last week after tweeting angrily about being asked for ID when buying cigarettes in a New York City shop.

Gallagher is in the States this week ahead of a set at Chicago's Lollapalooza festival on Thursday.
