The one-off special episode features the Dublin band's full set and a never-before-seen interview.
Fontaines D.C.'s acclaimed Kilmainham Gaol performance – originally filmed during the Courage series – will be broadcast in its entirety on Other Voices tomorrow night, April 8th, at 11pm, alongside a special interview with the band.
This one-off episode follows a remarkable few months for Fontaines D.C. – including BRIT Award and Grammy Award nominations. Earlier this year, they also performed 'A Hero's Death' on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
A performance from the Dublin band's Kilmainham set was played as the opening act for U2’s recent livestream of their iconic 1983 concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, as part of the Virtual Road series.
"On July 14th last year a remarkable gig took place behind the walls of Kilmainham at the height of lockdown as part of the Other Voices Courage series," comments Other Voices founder Philip King. "On that evening Fontaines D.C. played music from their about to be released album A Hero's Death. Grian Chatten says the album's name was inspired by a line from Brendan Behan's play The Hostage: "'If we give ourselves every breath, we are all in the running for a Hero's Death'. The Jail was the perfect location for this heroic music, echoing its turbulent past with energy and passion. It was a unique and inspiring performance."
Watch Fontaines D.C.'s full performance from Kilmainham Gaol on Other Voices tomorrow, April 8, at 11pm on RTÉ 2 and the RTÉ Player.
