WATCH: Eurovision sensation Daði Freyr shares dance-heavy video for '10 years'
Having captured the world’s attention with his infectious banger 'Think About Things', Daði Freyr is back with Eurovision glory for Iceland in his sights.
Eurovision heavyweight Daði Freyr delighted fans with the news that he would be participating once again in the lauded song contest for 2021.
Having entered the catchy track '10 Years' - already proving to be the bookies favourite - Daði has now shared the accompanying video. Iceland is seen being destroyed by a monster in the visuals, which Daði and Gagnamagnið (Daði’s Eurovision band) must fight off with the power of dance moves.
Although last year’s contest didn’t go ahead, nothing could stop Daði’s irresistible rise as the people’s champion. His entry song 'Think About Things' and its infamous dance routine became one of the biggest viral hits of the year, with over 75 million streams, a top 5 single in Ireland and reaching almost one billion people on international radio. The accompanying video has been viewed over 24 million times.
'10 Years' picks up where 'Think About Things' left off. Written about his wife, a fellow member of Daði’s Eurovision band Gagnamagnið, the track is an uplifting celebration of the decade they’ve been together. After lush strings in the intro, a characteristically dance floor-ready bassline paves the way for a soaring staccato melody. ‘10 Years’ is likely to propel Daði Freyr towards the coveted Eurovision Song Contest prize that he, and his host nation of Iceland, desperately desire.
Don't miss Daði Freyr live at Dublin's Olympia Theatre on June 2nd and June 3rd, 2022 (rescheduled from this summer).
