Watch: Dermot Kennedy performs 'Carrickfergus' with Amble's Robbie Cunningham and Aaron Rowe
Both Aaron Rowe and Robbie Cunningham opened for Dermot Kennedy at his show July 12.
Dermot Kennedy was joined by Robbie Cunningham of Amble and Aaron Rowe for a performance of ‘Carrickfergus' on the second night of his two-show run at the Aviva Stadium.
Dublin-born Kennedy has made the traditional Irish folk song ‘Carrickfergus’ a staple at his shows, delivering the ballad at the Olympia Theatre and in Nashville.
Kennedy has the best-selling debut album in Ireland of this millenium, Without Fear. He is known for his live performances, playing in venues such as London’s O2 Arena and New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
Cunningham, originally from Leitrim, belongs to modern Irish folk trio Amble. The band was formed in late 2022 by Cunningham, Oisín McCaffrey and Ross McNerney. They have sold out 3Arena shows and multiple UK and Ireland tours, as well as supported Hozier in his Unreal Unearth Tour and Ed Sheeran in his Loop Tour.
Rowe, originally from Dublin, is best known for his debut single, ‘Hey Ma,’ as well as ‘Talking with You’ and ‘Lose Lose’ all featured on his debut EP Exodus, released in May 2025. Rowe has sold out multiple of his own shows and, like Amble, supported Ed Sheeran on multiple of his tours.
Amble has an upcoming round of shows in Limerick this August 20, 21 and 22 for Live at the Docklands. This winter, Rowe will also perform in Ireland, with shows in Belfast, Limerick and Dublin.
