Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue announce Dublin gig
New Orleans jazz/pop legend Troy Andrews, aka "Trombone Shorty", has announced a gig in Dublin's The Academy.
From the historic Créole neighbourhood of Tremé, Andrews and his band Orleans Avenue are bringing an exciting blend of jazz, funk and pop across the Atlantic.

Andrews forged a connection with Ireland in 2006 when he collaborated with U2 and Green Day on a cover of Skids' 'The Saints Are Coming' at London's Abbey Road Studios. Proceeds from the song went to an organisation that the Edge and producer Bob Ezrin had founded to help New Orleans musicians whose livelihoods were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
Trombone Shorty also appeared onstage with the two rock bands for a pre-game show at the Superdome in Louisiana. It was the first match to take place there after the hurricane. Check out the collaboration below:
