Track Of The Day: VINCI - Secret Lovers

'Secret Lovers' is the first self-produced single from Irish four-piece band VINCI.

Recorded and produced in their own home studio built by lead singer Kurtis, 'Secret Lovers' is a synth-pop foot stomper, inspired by the "let's not label this" signature of young love. Lyrically embodying the angst and excitement of something new and dangerous, set to the soundtrack of the band's imagining of Venice Beach in the 80's; synths, roller-skates, cassette-players and a bright future. VINCI have had an eventful career for a band so early into it. Releasing their debut single 'Lions' as an anonymous, faceless band, they filmed their first ever music video at Dublin's City Hall, quickly garnering attention, being named Homegrown Hero on Today FM and selling out their first show in the same week.

Six weeks later, they sold out their second show at the iconic Whelan's, and travelled to London to showcase for labels two months later. While going through negotiations, they released a critically acclaimed second single, 'Liars', becoming the #1 Rock Single on iTunes Ireland, and their first nationally playlisted songs on RTE 2FM.

Following this, they were invited to perform for President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, at Aras An Uachtarain. They've since released two further singles, 'We Are Ghosts' and 'When We Go Out', both receiving rave reviews in Hot Press and leading to further national playlisting and two further sold out shows in Dublin.

In 2019, they became the first unsigned band to headline the Oscar Wilde Awards in Los Angeles, which lead to radio support across the US for a radio edit of their single, 'Lions' on iconic indie-rock radio staples such as 107.7 The End and KROQ.
