Track of the Day: ORIAN shares poignant new indie-pop track 'Grateful'

Having ended a year-long transitional hiatus from releasing music with the release of ‘Ask You Twice’ in September, alternative Irish songwriter ORIAN (real name Joey Ryan) follows up with ‘Grateful'.

Written about letting in those who are close to you and being appreciative of their support, the single couldn't have arrived at a more fitting time.

Co-written with Craig Walker (Power of Dreams/Archive), understated harmonics and crisp, pop guitar melodies follow ORIAN’s soulful voice closely, adding an emotional weight to his words.

‘Grateful’ “reflects the vulnerability that I feel, and how important having the right people around you can be at these times. In short, it’s a reminder to be there for one another, and to be grateful for the people we surround ourselves with."

ORIAN independently released his first two singles 'Tryin’' and 'Holding On' in May and November 2019.

'Ask You Twice' was co-written and produced by Berlin-based Producer Joschka Bender and mixed with additional production by ANDOR - who also worked on 'Grateful'.

Having completed his second headline tour of Germany in February 2020, the Irish artist has five new singles planned for release over the next few months (including 'Grateful' and 'Ask You Twice').

Joey Ryan has performed and supported many artists over the past few years in Ireland and Germany, notably Mick Flannery, JET, Bastille, Georg Ezra, John Spillane, David Ryan Harris and Jack Lukeman.
