Hot Press Track of the Day: Little Hours 'Letters'
Having recently opened for Gavin James at the Trinity Summer Series, Little Hours aka Donegal singer John Doherty is building quite a reputation in the Irish music scene. This is set to continue with his new track 'Letters'.
Available to listen to on Spotify, the track - whose lyrics seem to suggest a break-up - starts delicately with just Doherty's voice and acoustic guitars. However, it's not long before a piano and then choir, is added to the mix.
Slowly amping up the pace, by the two minute mark of the song, Doherty's voice rises - swelling with the various instruments creating a massive sounding stadium ballad.
Speaking with Hot Press recently, Doherty said: "We're doing a lot of writing and working in the studio. We're planning new releases for the end of the year, with the intention of finishing a new album. I'm dying to get it out. We have so many songs ready to go. I feel like it's the best stuff we've ever written."
On the basis of 'Letters', we agree. Have a listen to the song below.
