Track of the Day: Aoife Wolf - 'I and the Ocean'
Aoife Wolf's debut single 'I And The Ocean' is the song your playlist has been missing!
Having played Whelan’s “Ones to Watch" earlier this year. Hot Press writer Ingrid Angulo shared that they were “counting down the days until her debut single later this year.”. And we were right to wait!
The singer-songwriter from County Offaly's lyrics draw on elements of surrealism, perhaps in an attempt to detangle her innermost workings of the mind. With influences from Jefferson Airplane to Kate Bush to Pj Harvey. Wolf's music beautifully blends elements of folk and alternative rock.
Following the success of her Whelan's 'Ones To Watch' performance, Aoife went on to perform to a sold out crowd in The Sugar Club as part of the hugely successful Candlelit Tales and Herstory night 'Women and Warriors'.
Aoife is set for a busy year ahead, she joins Junior Brother in the Blackbox, Belfast in March, as well as performing at Body & Soul festival in the summer.
