Toto to play Live At The Marquee in Cork this June
They're gonna take some time to do the things they never have...
Having celebrated their 40th anniversary earlier this year with two nights at Vicar Street in April, celebrated 80s hitmakers Toto have already prepared their return to Irish shores with today's announcement that they'll be taking to the stage Live at The Marquee in Cork next June.
The band's Greatest Hits titled album 40 Trips Around The Sun was released earlier this year to widespread acclaim worldwide, as were their subsequent tour dates, of which there are many more to come. Many more European shows are in the pipeline in addition to their Cork appearance, all of which will follow a set of shows coming up in New Zealand, Australia and Japan. The '40 Trips Around The Sun' tour is Toto's most extensive in years, with another set of announcements on the horizon that will see them add new North American tour dates for the autumn of next year.
The grand celebrations of the group's work have been fitting, as there have been few bands in history that have had the imprint on pop culture than Toto and their membership. On top of being one of the top-selling acts in the world in their own right, as individuals they can be heard on as many as 5000 records that in total have a sales history of a half a billion albums, as well as credits on the likes of Thriller.
A taste of all of this - as well as a no doubt typically epic rendition of 'Africa' (what more could you want) - will be on show when Toto perform Live at The Marquee on the 15th of June 2019. Tickets go on sale Wednesday (December 5th) from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
