The Waterboys present Fisherman's Blues Revisited
The band will be touring Ireland and the UK to celebrate the albums 25th anniversary...
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of their classic Fisherman's Blues album, The Waterboys will tour in December with a special line-up that reunites Mike Scott and Steve Wickham with Fisherman's Blues band members Anto Thistlethwaite and Trevor Hutchinson for the first time since 1990. The four will be joined by current Waterboys drummer Ralph Salmins.
The tour coincides with the October 14 release of EMI's 7CD set Fisherman's Box and will take in three Irish dates:
Dec 20 - Drogheda Tlt Theatre (€44.50)
Dec 22 - Galway Leisureland (€44.50)
Dec 23 - Dublin Convention Centre (€44.50)
Waterboy Mike Scott has said that: "We won't be playing the original Fisherman's Blues album in order or anything tame like that. Instead we'll be using the band's vintage repertoire as a starting point for a new blast of the freewheeling, improvised spirit of The Waterboys in those days. I want that old fire burning again, Steve and Anto wailing like the two-man orchestra I remember, when anything could and did happen."
Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 22 at 9.30am
