The Undertones are asking fans to come up with a name for their upcoming tour
The Undertones are inviting fans to come up with a name for their UK tour, which runs from September 24 to October 8 and will hopefully be extended to take in shows on this side of the Irish Sea.
“A tour isn’t a tour unless it’s got a name,” says bassist Mickey Bradley. “Many years ago, we called one See No More which was some kind of veiled message about us leaving Sire Records whose boss was Seymour Stein. This is an example of a not very good name for a tour. A good name is one that doesn’t have to be explained to the bass player and the drummer!”
To help get those creative juices flowing, the band are offering the prize of two tickets to any gig on the trek and a signed t-shirt.

“A good name,” Mickey resumes, “was the Humming, Leaping And Minging tour of 1980. All three words referred to various stages of personal hygiene that could be detected on the Undertones mini-bus at the time. You’re not allowed to call it Beatles Reunion or anything that could be seen as misleading the public.”
