The Strokes share 'Going Shopping' music video starring Walton Goggins
In late May, The Strokes travelled to Tenerife to meet up with Walton Goggins.
The Strokes have shared a music video for 'Going Shopping' starring American actor Walton Goggins.
Best known for his roles in shows including The White Lotus and Fallout, as well as films like Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight, Goggins joined the band for the video at Auditorio de Tenerife.
They released the track on April 7, serving as the lead single for their seventh studio album, Reality Awaits. The album will be the band's first since 2020's The New Abnormal, which earned them their first Grammy Award for Best Rock Album, and featured lead single 'The Adults Are Talking', which became the band's most streamed song on Spotify.
Their new album, which is set for release on July 24, had originally been scheduled for release last month. No reason for the postponement was announced.
In April, The Strokes announced an extensive tour across North America, the UK, Europe, South America and Japan. The run includes a sold-out show on October 28 in the 3Arena, Dublin.
The two singles released so far show influences from frontman Julian Casablancas' side project, The Voidz, the experimental rock group with whom he has released three studio albums.
Outside of The Strokes, guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. released a solo album in 2023, while bassist Nikolai Fraiture put out an EP with his band Summer Moon in the same year. Guitarist Nick Valensi's band CRX followed with a new album in 2024.
