The Saw Doctors to be honoured at Meteors
The Saw Doctors are to be presented with a Lifetime Achievement award at the upcoming Meteor Irish Music Awards.
The veteran group have been in the business for 22 years now and are best known for hits such as 'N17' and the biggest-selling Irish single of all time 'I Useta Love Her'. They remain hugely popular both in Ireland and abroad and can count 52 tours of the U.S. amongst their accomplishments.
Previous winners of the Meteor Lifetime Achievement Award include Christy Moore, Paul Brady, Bob Geldof, The Dubliners, Aslan, The Pogues and last year's recipients, Clannad. The Saw Doctors will receive their gong at this year's awards night on February 15.
The band have also been announced as the inaugural live act to perform at the new Academy venue on Dublin's Middle Abbey Street when it opens on February 22nd. Tickets for this gig are priced €31.50.
