The Rolling Stones release new song with the Cure's Robert Smith
Robert Smith will take to the stage in Marlay Park with The Cure this evening in their first Irish concert since they played the 3Arena in 2022.
The Rolling Stones have released ‘Divine Intervention’, featuring guitar from The Cure’s Robert Smith,
The band also unveiled ‘Jealous Lover’, accompanied by a music video featuring Glee actor Charles Melton and Anna Taylor-Joy.
‘Devine Intervention’ features a bluesy rock sound reminiscent of tracks like ‘Rocks Off’, ‘Rip This Tune’, and ’Ventilator Blues’ that span their 1971 album Exile on Main Street, .
The second track, ‘Jealous Lover ', is like some of the band's soul and disco-inspired work, such as ‘Emotional Rescue’ and ‘Miss You’.
Steve Winwood plays keys on both songs, with the album set to feature former Beatles bassist Paul McCartney and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
The double release follows the music video for ‘In the Stars’, which featured Marty Supreme star Odessa A’zion, along with CGI versions of the band’s members, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, in their younger years.
The Stones' much-anticipated 26th studio album, Foreign Tongues, will be released on July 10 on CD, cassette, vinyl record, and special box sets.
