On August 10th, Roscommon teen rock band The Flies released their sophomore EP, Looser. Influenced by The Chats, Dinosaur Jr., Queens of the Stone Age and Elvis Costello, The Flies fuse rock and pop with elements of punk.
Looser was recorded at The Blue Room Studio in Sligo, just days before the Coronavirus lockdown. The quartet completed the recordings by doing overdubs and vocals at home. With their debut EP receiving wide praise from radio stations and print media alike, the band were looking forward to a busy summer of festival slots before the lockdown took effect.
