The Coral and The Lost Brothers pay tribute to Townes Van Zandt
Following their album release before Xmas, The Lost Brothers, Bill Ryder-Jones and Nick Power (The Coral) are paying tribute to Townes Van Zandt on the 20th anniversary of his death with their version of 'Mr. Mudd And Mr. Gold'.
The track, originally released in 1972 on the Late Great Townes Van Zandt is taken from The Bird Dog Tapes Vol 1, the first in a series of new albums just released by the Lost Brothers, comprising of vault recordings spanning across their ten years of working together in the studio and on the road.
Bill Ryder-Jones plays slide electric guitar and The Coral’s Nick Power is on harmonica for this blisteringly rustic rendition.
