The Big Pink play the Electric Picnic
And we're claiming them under the grandparent rule!
Much-admired – not least in HP Central – London outfit The Big Pink have been added to the Electric Picnic bill.
Recipients of this year’s Philip Hall Radar Award – Hall being the legendary manager of the Stone Roses and Manic Street Preachers – the London duo are signed to 4AD and profess to a love of The Golden Horde, which makes them A-OK in our book.
One half of the duo is ex-Dubliner Milo Cordell, son of legendary Island Records A&R man Denny Cordell who, among other notable achievements, signed The Cranberries.
Also in thrall to My Bloody Valentine and the rest of the shoegaze gang, their debut album is due shortly after the Stradbally Hall Estate bash.
