The Academic announce 3Olympia gig
The Academic are returning to the 3Olympia in October, almost a year after their last gig in Dublin
The Academic have announced their return to the 3Olympia Theatre on October 16, plus special guests.
Next year, the Westmeath band will embark on a UK and European tour, which was postponed in 2025, when members of the band made the decision to finish recording their upcoming album before heading on tour.
The band took to Instagram to explain the situation to fans "We've made the tough decision to postpone our upcoming UK and European tour," read the post.
"The truth is, we've been pouring everything into our new music, and we've realised that the best thing we can do right now is step back and fully dedicate ourselves to finishing our next album."
The Academic released their sophomore album Sitting Pretty in 2023, followed by their latest single 'Easy on the Eyes' (2024).
"We're different people now but that's natural, said vocalist, Craig Fitzgerald.
"We are still as ambitious as we have ever been, and we feel that our best work is yet to come."
Following the release of their 2023 album, the band have played gigs across the UK, Europe and Asia.
Tickets to the upcoming 3Olympia gig are on sale this Friday and are available here
