Waterford artist Tadhg Williams has announced a free home-town show at Geoff’s Café Bar, set for July 5.
No tickets are required for the gig, and special guests are to be announced. The performance comes as part of Williams’ current tour across Ireland. It follows support slots for The Coronas, Hermitage Green, Kingfishr and Toucan, as well as his debut EP This Record is a Nixer in December of 2024.
“This is the biggest tour I’ve done,” he said. “I feel like everything is going in the right direction - I’ve put this whole tour together myself with the help of friends and other artists I love and admire. Being able to connect with people, talk about their connections to the stories I’m telling, feels like a real privilege.
"Obviously I’ve had a few shows in Waterford over the years but this one feels special. After seven years living in Dublin, I’ll be moving home to Waterford soon, and that kind of lines up with this show. Also, the first song I ever released, ‘My Father’s Clouds’, is quite literally about being with friends out the back of Geoff’s. So having the chance to play that song in that space feels very poetic!”
