Stormzy hits out at secondary ticket sites as Olympia Theatre show sells out in minutes
"They're c*nts".
Grime and hip-hop artist Stormzy has blasted secondary sites as tickets for his shows went up online for five times their face value mere minutes after selling out.
In a tweet, Stormzy said: "Fuck all these secondary ticket websites, please don't buy tickets for more than face value. Sorry there isn't more I can do, they're cunts"
Following sell-out shows for Ed Sheeran and U2 in recent months, the London-based grime artist is the latest musician to be caught up in the frustrating situation where tickets for his shows are being sold online for exorbitant prices.
Tickets for Stormzy's Olympia Theatre show are currently on sale at Seatwave for as high as €118, despite prices having started at €26.40. Stormzy will play at the Olympia Theatre on March 29.
This comes at a time when TDs are attempting to introduce legislation to tackle secondary ticket-selling. Earlier this week, we ran a story from the latest issue where we spoke to Fine Gael's Noel Rock about his efforts to introduce anti-ticket touting legislation in the Dáil.
