SPRINTS share cover of 'Deceptacon' by Le Tigre
The band has paid homage to an indie punk predecessor in the midst of their European and U.S. tour.
SPRINTS have shared their cover of Le Tigre's 'Deceptacon' via City Slang and Sub Pop.
The Irish punk outfit brings a sense of explosiveness to SPRINTS' rendition of the 1999 indie classic. Frontwoman Karla Chubb's fervent vocals raise the stakes and add grit to the track.
"I’m not sure there’s a womxn in the world who plays guitar that hasn’t been inspired by Kathleen Hanna," Chubb said in a statement. "'Deceptacon' is a dance punk classic, a constant in the tour van, and a cover we used to throw into festival sets for fun. What better way to mark our return to the States and honour our love of U.S. Punk than to release our little rendition of 'Deceptacon.'"
SPRINTS are currently touring their 2025 album All That Is Over through the U.S. and Europe. Tickets are available on their website.
The band played Whelan's in Dublin on January 26. Read our review of their gig here.
