Spearside announce single launch show at Whelan's
Tickets cost €12 and can purchased at www.whelanslive.com.
Meath power-trio Spearside have announced a gig at Whelan's upstairs on Saturday 16 December to launch their upcoming single 'Passion Merchant' - out 17 January 2024.
“The instrumental section developed slowly over a number of gigs," said frontman Oisín Walsh on the band's new song.
"On the recording we tried to capture the best parts from various improvised jams we would go off on in the middle of playing 'Passion Merchant' live. I recently moved to Rome, and most of the mid section was recorded the night before I left Ireland because I’ve never been one for deadlines. Passion Merchant will hopefully share a side of our band that to this point has been reserved for our live audiences.”
A watertight three-piece with devotions to Can, Spirtualized and the Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Trim rockers played the same venue last August. Read the live report here.
For their final gig of the year, Spearside will be joined by fellow Irish pysch act Thee UFO.
Tickets for Spearside's single launch at Whelan's cost €12 and can purchased at www.whelanslive.com.
