Soda Blonde release self-made video for 'Swimming Through The Night'
In the wake of Little Green Cars, Soda Blonde are making a serious name for themselves with an original sound and image.
Soda Blonde is the new musical project of Dublin artists Faye O’Rourke, Adam O’Regan, Donagh Seaver O’Leary and Dylan Lynch. Formerly members of the band Little Green Cars, they are now starting a musical venture of their own by releasing their new single ‘Swimming Through The Night’.
Now, the band have shared the video for their debut single.
Band member Adam O'Regan, who also directed the video, cites Sigmund Freud as an influence in its creation. He draws upon Freud's words: “Dreams tell us many an unpleasant biological truth about ourselves and only very free minds can thrive on such a diet. Self-deception is a plant which withers fast in the pellucid atmosphere of dream investigation.”
O'Regan says ‘Swimming Through The Night’ was filmed over the course of three nights. "We had no budget, but through the immense talent, effort and love of some close friends we’ve created a video that we are very proud to share with you. We were inspired by the works of Jean Cocteau, Hayao Miyazaki and Stanley Kubrick in finding the story’s visual language. We invite you, the viewer, to draw your own interpretation of its meaning."
