Snow Patrol wow audience at American Music Awards
Belfast/Glasweigan quintent Snow Patrol entertained the crowds at the American Music Awards last night, where Black Eyed Peas and The Red Hot Chili Peppers were the big winners.
The Patrollers joined the likes of Beyonce, Gwen Stefani and Snoop Dogg in performing live at the Awards, which took place in the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium.
Black Eyed Peas won three awards, for best group in the soul/R&B and rap/hip-hop categories, as well as for best album (Monkey Business) in the rap/hip-hop genre.
The Chili Peppers, Rascal Flatts, Mary J. Blige and Kelly Clarkson each picked up two awards.
In between dishing out awards, Snow Patrol gave a live rendition of 'Chasing Cars'. The track helped shoot the band to fame in the States, when it was used in the series final of Grey's Anatomy. Since then, Music Week's described them as the American chart's highest ranking UK act since UB40 in 1993.
