Snow Patrol postpone Derry shows "under doctor's advice"
Their tour celebrates 20 years of their best-selling album Eyes Open, which includes single 'Chasing Cars'.
Snow Patrol have announced the postponement of their shows at the Millenium Forum in Derry until February. They did so on a doctor's advice, as Johnny McDaid, the band's pianist, guitarist, and backup singer, has broken his hand.
Tickets to the shows, originally planned for October 13, 14, 16, and 17, remain valid for the rescheduled shows. They are also eligible for refund.
According to the band's announcement, McDaid broke his hand before their performances at Royal Albert Hall in late September. He performed those shows despite severe pain and swelling, but the band were advised by a doctor to postpone the remaining shows of their tour to prevent lasting damage and allow for three months of recovery.
The tour celebrates 20 years since their album Eyes Open, which was the best-selling album in the UK in 2006. It includes top 10 singles 'You're All I Have' and 'Chasing Cars'. In 2019, the latter was reported as the most-played song on UK radio in the 21st century.
Snow Patrol have won seven Meteor Ireland Music Awards and been nominated for six BRIT Awards.
