Snow Patrol on board with Kilkenny under-age footie
Go team! Snow Patrol will be the resident rockers for Thomastown's U-15's
First it was Wet Wet With with Clydebank, then Skint with Brighton and now Snow Patrol with…Thomastown U-15's!
Yup, sporting chaps that they are Gary Lightbody & Co. are sponsoring the under-age Kilkenny footie team for the 2003/4 season.
They're in Thomastown on October 10 for a benefit gig and then, hangovers permitting, joining the budding Wayne Rooneys for a kickabout the following day.
Meanwhile, there was cause for minor celebration last week as the band made their UK top 60 singles debut with 'Spitting Games'. They've also landed the support slot on Grandaddy's upcoming UK tour which kicks off in Glasgow on November 7. The beardy Americans had originally included Belfast and Dublin stop-offs, but these have now been postponed until the New Year.
