Sinéad O’Connor plans a welcome return
As predicted in the last issue of Hotpress, Sinéad O’Connor is touring in support of her new reggae covers album, Throw Down Your Arms.
The even better news is that the Sly & Robbie-assisted trek is stopping off in Dublin’s Helix Theatre on November 3, with tickets priced €42 going on sale at 9am on Friday August 19.
Meanwhile, last week saw Hot Press traveling with Sinéad to Kingston for the official Jamaican launch of the opus.
“To me, I’ve not made a reggae record, I’ve made a Rasta record,” says the 38-year-old. “It is my way of expressing gratitude to the Rasta people because I am one of those human beings who would not be alive today if it was not for the teachings of Rastafari.”
We’ll have a lot, lot more for you in an upcoming issue!
