Simple Things set for massive 2026 following success of Steve Garrigan co-write 'Wait For Me'

Following a phenomenal 2025, Kerry band Simple Things have emerged as one of the most hotly tipped homegrown acts to watch out for over the 12 months ahead – powered by the success of their soul-baring single, 'Wait For Me'.
Co-written with Steve Garrigan of Kodaline, the poignant track is expected to soundtrack a breakout year for the folk-pop trio – made up of Dylan O’Sullivan (vocals, guitar), Kealan Cahill (accordion, keyboards), Shane Kennedy (bass guitar, mandolin).
'Wait For Me' delves into the emotional toll of pursuing your ambitions – and being torn between chasing a dream, and leaving the person who matters most behind. Ultimately, the song – which has already garnered nearly 100,000 Spotify streams – finds that success means very little, if you don't have the person you want to share it with by your side.

Managed by music lawyer Willie Ryan – who has worked with an impressive selection of internationally renowned artists – Simple Things have carved out a sound that resonates powerfully with their ever-expanding fanbase, by blending modern pop sensibilities with traditional Irish instrumentation.
In 2025 alone, they clocked up six million Spotify streams, in addition to high-profile support slots for the likes of Rag'n'Bone Man and Picture This, major festival sets, and a lauded headline tour.
This year is shaping up to be even bigger for Simple Things, with European festival appearances confirmed, and UK and Irish tour dates on the way – including a headline show at the Gleneagle Club in Killarney on Saturday, May 2.
Following the release of 'Wait For Me', Simple Things have since returned with a brand new single, 'Hope' – describing it as "the start of a very exciting run of releases this year."
